The Kutchi work is handicraft and embroidery art work of the tribal community of Kutch District in Gujarat, India.
This work has played a big role in Indian embroidery tradition. The embroidery is done on Cotton, Silk or Satin fabrics using cotton or silk threads. The various types of stitches are "square chain, double button hole, pattern darning, running stitch, satin and straight stitches". The colorful embroidery art work may be highlighted using small mirrors called "Abhla" that can be sewn in between the designs.
Different styles of the kutch work are:
1. Suf
2. Khaarek
3. Paako
4. Rabari
5. Garasia Jat
6. Mutava
These styles come from the different tribal subgroups such as Rabari, Garasia Jat and Mutava.
